About This Trip
The Phi Phi Islands are Thailand's most iconic seascape — dramatic limestone karsts rising from emerald lagoons, hidden beaches between towering cliffs, and some of the best snorkeling in the Andaman Sea. A private speedboat, catamaran or yacht from Rassada Pier puts it all within reach, with no crowded tour boats and no rigid schedules.
The journey from Rassada Pier to Phi Phi takes approximately 2 hours each way by speedboat. While this is a full-day trip, the experience of arriving at Maya Bay on your own boat — not herded off a ferry with 200 other tourists — is transformative. Your captain knows the best anchorages, the quietest beaches, and the times when the crowds thin out.
Maya Bay, made famous by the film 'The Beach', is the highlight for most travelers. Its towering limestone walls enclose a bay of impossible turquoise. Monkey Beach offers the chance to see macaques up close (from a respectful distance). And the snorkeling at Loh Samah Bay and Pileh Lagoon is world-class, with coral gardens and tropical fish in abundance.
Because this is a longer trip, we recommend departing early — ideally by 8 AM — to maximize your time at the islands and beat the tour boat crowds. Your captain can pack a picnic lunch, or you can stop at one of the local restaurants on Phi Phi Don for fresh seafood.
This is a full-day adventure. Bring plenty of sunscreen, a hat, and a sense of wonder. The Phi Phi Islands are everything you've seen in photos — and a private longtail charter is the best way to experience them.
