About This Trip
James Bond Island — known locally as Ko Tapu — is the iconic needle-shaped limestone karst in Phang Nga Bay, made famous by the 1974 film 'The Man with the Golden Gun'. It sits beside Khao Phing Kan, a larger island whose dramatic cliffs frame the slender rock in one of Thailand's most photographed seascapes.
Lennam offers two distinct ways to reach James Bond Island. The first is by private speedboat, catamaran or yacht from Ao Por, Bang Rong, Royal Phuket Marina or Boat Lagoon — a full-day Phang Nga Bay route of 7 to 8 hours. The second is a lower-cost option involving a road transfer from Phuket to an approved Phang Nga mainland pier, followed by a local longtail boat. This road-transfer route is clearly described as a road-plus-boat journey, not as a boat departure from Phuket.
The normal experience is a Phang Nga Bay route that may include limestone scenery, sea-cave canoeing, mangroves, floating-village stops or other approved stops depending on the operator. Canoeing, lunch, national park fees, floating-village entry, transfers, guides, drinks and additional stops are not included unless the selected package expressly includes them.
Rawai longtail, Chalong longtail and Laem Hin local longtail are not offered as standard direct routes to James Bond Island. The island is not a standalone beach day — it is part of a Phang Nga Bay route experience.
