About This Trip
Ko Yao Noi is the quieter, smaller of the two Yao Islands. It has a gentle, peaceful character — a few small resorts, local fishing villages, and beaches that face the dramatic limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay. It's the kind of place where you slow down without trying.
The journey from Bang Rong Pier takes 1 hour 15 minutes by speedboat. As you cross Phang Nga Bay, the limestone formations rise around you — some towering hundreds of feet, others just tiny rocky outcrops covered in vegetation. It's one of the most scenic boat journeys in Thailand.
Ko Yao Noi's beaches face east, looking out over the bay toward the karst formations. At low tide, the water recedes to reveal mudflats and sandbars. At high tide, the swimming is wonderful. The sunsets here, with the silhouetted limestone towers, are extraordinary.
The island has a small but charming local community. You'll find a few restaurants, a local market, and the laid-back atmosphere that comes from being far from the package-tour circuit. It's a great island to explore by bicycle or scooter if you want to stretch your legs after the boat ride.
For couples and travelers seeking peace, natural beauty, and a slower pace, Ko Yao Noi is hard to beat. Pair it with a visit to Ko Yao Yai for a full day of Yao Islands exploration.
